Heads of a woman, three children severed in Begusarai – Times of India

Begusarai/Patna: In a shocking incident, the heads of Pooja Gupta (34) and her two daughters and a son were severed from their bodies, which were recovered from a ditch near Sanha railway halt under Sahebpur Kamal police station area in Begusarai district on Monday. Even their clothes were taken away to conceal their identities.

Sahebpur Kalam SHO Rajesh Kumar said the two girls were aged nine and six while the boy was approximately seven years old. “Police found a locket, pairs of slippers and shoes near the spot, which helped them identify the deceased. Their heads are yet to be recovered,” the SHO said, adding that police suspect the hand of Pooja’s husband Sarvesh (28) in the killing. He said even the dog squad could not help.

“The family lived at a rented house in Bagha under Lohia Nagar outpost in the district and their landlord Bhamhadev Prasad ascertained the identity of all the four with the help of the locket and child’s shoes recovered from the spot,” the SHO said, adding that the husband was unemployed and owed huge amount to several shops in Bagha. The SHO, quoting the locals, said the husband did not behave normally and the woman was last seen around 2pm on Sunday.

“Police searched their room, but did not find anything except a bed,” he said, adding that the woman was a native of Katihar while her husband belonged to Naugachia in Bhagalpur district. But police were yet to identify their families. The SHO said raids were on to nab Sarvesh.
